STORY
Liberation Culture was founded by
Elaine Huang, a serial entrepreneur, music enthusiast, world traveler and lover of all cute things. Ever since she was a little girl, she started collecting things from stickers, notebooks, stationary to the variety of greeting cards she could get her hands on. This was back in the day when the internet was still slow, and sending mail was still a thing. She loved writing her pen pals so much in school that even after that was over, she came back home researching more pen pals around the world.
Even with the boom of the internet, e-cards, communicating through e-mails, chats, and social media, she never lost her love for writing and collectibles. She believes that nothing beats a tangible reminder, thought, and love note. She never failed to step foot into any stationary and small gift shop she saw, whether she was traveling the world or browsing locally. She continues to buy greeting cards for her loved ones, while always having extra in the “for later” collection.
After years of being a consumer of cards and stationary, she finally decided to launch her own line of creation to spread creativity, love, and joy. Similar to her other projects, Liberation Culture will also have a big piece in giving back. A portion of the proceeds for every purchase will go towards supporting different charities around the world. During the time of the COVID-19 pandemic, every card purchased will equal to another card donated to those impacted during this time. Think of it as “buy a card, gift a card.” These gifted cards will be sent to different service providers at hospitals, front line workers, senior citizens staying in or anyone else impacted by COVID-19.
